heartbeatslikeasubwaytrain asked: I was on the same page as you but I was slightly disconcerted by the fact that there is ofcourse bias on either end of the spectrum and I've started to question veganism as opposed to ethical sourcing of animal bi-products. I do not eat meat but there is a Sydney based meat producer called 'Feather and Bone' which is to the highest standard free range and ethical. This is understandably not very profitable to run so its clear these people truly care. I would be interested in what you think! X
To me the animals are still controlled and murdered.
Think about it. Would it be okay if I randomly stole a human male and human female. Forced them to conceive, either manually or give them some time if I’m chilled. Then once they gave birth, I don’t let them see their baby, it goes off in a matter of hours (baby human is tasty!!). Then I make sure that that female is pregnant within the next few months. It has no choice. No freedom outside the paddock. I shoot them up with antibiotics by the month. Make sure they both get uncomfortably fat, addicted to the sweet chemical nectar that makes them like the taste of the stale grain.
I don’t care if those humans want to explore, want to live freely, I have money to make! I don’t care if they cry or scream when I label them by burning into their flesh.. Hey they need to know who’s boss! I’m stronger therefore I can control their entire lives.
But hey, I feed them, give them water and make sure they are PERFECT for slaughter! Is that really so bad?
I think by comparing the animal’s condition with human beings brings a big “wait this is wrong”.
We have been dumbed down by mass media that says “animals can’t feel”. Which is a statement so many people try and tell me day after day. These beings have eyes to see, eyes to hear, mouths to eat and yes A NERVOUS SYSTEM that is capable of feeling joy, sadness etc. It’s not CAN THEY TALK? CAN THEY REASON? ITS CAN THEY SUFFER??!?!
Every animal suffers with a knife slicing it’s throat, gun to it’s head. Go maybe even imprisoned it’s entire life, forced to breed.
Furthermore, Can I humanely control, rape (milk cows) and then murder you?
Can I humanely grind ALL male baby chicks when born on an egg farm? (Happens in both free range and caged, AND IN AUS on EVERY egg farm)
So yeah, any form of negative control, confinement, then slit of neck or gun to their heads… To me isn’t okay. Hey most people would scream and cry if I told them their dog was going to be raped, milked repeatedly, then killed for food once too old to make milk! Most people wouldn’t want to drink the oozing pus filled genital liquid of a dog, so why is it okay to do the exact same to a cow?
Media brainwash and corporate greed.
Watch “vegucated” or the “best speech ever” on YouTube.. They both expose the beautiful marketing technique that is “organic” or “free range”.
